Civil Life Brewing Company

This dog-friendly pub features an expansive backyard garden where both pups and their owners can relax in the sunshine. A popular neighborhood destination, this restaurant has been in business for more than two decades and is known for its classic Irish pub atmosphere and selection of whiskeys and beers from its bar.

District officials had previously enforced strict pet-friendly policies against restaurants and bars that allowed pets on their patios, but in 2017 their policies changed and now permit establishments to tailor their pet-friendly policies as desired. This has resulted in an explosion of new dog-friendly venues such as Pete’s Tavern in Gramercy where customers can order beer, cocktails and even daily Jell-O shots on its patio!
