Doing your own camping may not always be convenient or luxurious; here are several pet-friendly campgrounds with breathtaking views that provide stunning landscapes and incredible outdoor experiences for camping with dogs. From mountains to beaches, forests to wetlands – these dog-friendly camping grounds will not disappoint.
Gulf Islands National Seashore allows leashed pets to explore its campground area and along paved roads, but not on beaches or inside buildings.
Boulder Basin Campground
Boulder Basin Campground provides the ideal starting point for those wanting to hike, mountain bike, kayak, and take in stunning mountain views. Open year-round and featuring several developed campsites equipped with tables, fire rings and non-potable water sources; pets can be brought along as long as they remain leashed when leaving and picked up after. Furthermore, several trails nearby make for excellent opportunities for hiking, bicycling and horseback riding activities.
Boulder Basin in California is one of the top dog-friendly camping spots, and for good reason! Home to an abundance of hiking and biking trails that make the Boulder Basin area perfect for exploring with pets. If you want more of a challenge, the 7.5-mile Cougar Crest Bertha Peak Trail may provide just that extra stretch! For optimal conditions and less crowds, spring and fall months offer ideal temperatures.
Boulder Basin Campground, situated on the northern side of Moraine Park, provides stunning views of Moraine’s expansive parkland and nearby mountain peaks. This developed campground features 15 campsites equipped with tables, fire rings and standard 110 (20 amp) electrical plugs – each site also provides an individual flat turf pad camp area suitable for tents or RVs.
Campground is open all year, but for maximum enjoyment visit between March to May and September-November when temperatures are comfortable with clear skies. Lark Canyon Trails provide ideal off-road adventures close by; consider visiting during these periods too.
Only downside of this pet-friendly campground is that it can become overrun on weekends, so arrive early in order to beat other hikers and bikers to your site. Bring plenty of water and food for both yourself and your pet. Also remember to pack trash bags – many irresponsible pet owners forget this important rule in nature!
Fremont Campground
Fremont Campground in California is a pet-friendly campsite that welcomes your furry family members. Boasting over a dozen RV and tent campsites that can accommodate large and small pups alike, the Santa Ynez River runs right past this campground, making it the perfect location for camping with both large and small canines alike. Open from mid-March to October each year, RV sites feature water/electric hookups to suit both RVs/trailers with fire rings/grates at each site as well as hiking/horseback riding/horseback riding along nearby trails while horseback riding also plays out on nearby trails – plus there’s always fun horseback rides for visitors & horseback rides along its shorelines or relaxing on its popular beach is another drawcard!
Pets are allowed on paved roads and paths, picnic areas and day-use areas. Although the campground doesn’t provide pet-friendly toilets, however the nearby beach does. Please keep your pets on a leash at all times and clean up after them when finished playing outside. There’s also a boat launch and beach for recreational activities at this campground.
Campground on beautiful 990-acre lake offers numerous recreational activities. Fishermen will appreciate excellent fishing for lake, rainbow and brown trout as well as kokanee salmon; guests may also enjoy boating, swimming, sailing and canoeing on its waters. Hikers and horseback riders will find many scenic trails – Black Mountain Trail being one of them – leading up to Mount San Gorgonio.
There are a number of amenities and activities to enjoy at this campground, such as a game room, swimming pool and hot tubs, skatepark, bicycle rentals, basketball court rental service, sports fields as well as market. In addition, laundry services and restaurant are both located onsite – in total there are 115 sites including tent and RV sites!
A small creek runs through this campground, creating an idyllic atmosphere. Campsites are large and well-spaced, featuring trees for shade. Each campsite contains tables, fire rings and grates; additionally they come equipped with their own water faucet. Plus it’s just minutes from Solvang Beach as well as Santa Barbara.
Jalama Campground
Jalama is a favorite among beach-goers and offers RV, tent and cabin camping just steps from the shoreline. Some campsites boast beautiful ocean views so you can fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing. Camping reservations at Jalama can be made online up to six months ahead.
Jalama Park is the perfect spot for unplugging and enjoying nature, featuring 109 tent and RV campsites overlooking the ocean as well as seven cabins, a general store, day-use picnic areas and day use parking. In addition to relaxing here you’ll also have plenty of things to do like surfing, fishing, hiking and bird-watching; during winter you may even get lucky enough to spot grey whales while camping at Jalama!

Hiking on the beach or through coastal oak woodland are also great activities that provide respite from it all; alternatively you could go for an exhilarating bike or kayak tour along its coastline for some truly tranquil time away from it all!

In order to ensure an enjoyable summer camping trip at Jalama Beach County Park Campground in Santa Barbara, it’s wise to reserve your site well ahead of time. The secluded park has become one of the Central Coast’s premier spots, quickly filling up quickly. RV and tent sites as well as seven cabins can all be reserved through Santa Barbara County Parks Department online reservation system.
Visiting Carpinteria State Beach and Leo Carrillo State Beach as nearby alternatives if Jalama is full are both great ways to escape its busy traffic jams, offering beautiful beaches with less crowding. Plus, no traffic worries await at Jalama!
Silver Springs Campground
This pet-friendly campground has much to offer visitors. Situated along the White River, campers will experience breathtaking scenery and recreational activities at this campground. Additionally, this campground also features a large dog park where pups can run free and swim freely!
Silver Springs State Park, with its bright turquoise water bubbling up through underground limestone aquifers to form its famous spring waters, is located six miles from this campground. Home to manatees, freshwater fish and alligators alike – not forgetting riverbanks for great riverbank viewing – Silver Springs offers something for all nature enthusiasts and river lovers.
KOA Camping Park provides the ideal family camping experience, providing amenities to ensure everyone’s comfort during their stay. The campground’s trees provide shade from scorching sun or sudden showers – ideal for families with young children who can play safely under cover without being exposed to harsh elements.
Visitors to Mount Rainier National Park can explore nearby nature trails and enjoy scenic mountain views from them. The Crystal Mountain Trail begins near the campground and ascends all the way up Mount Rainier’s summit for beautiful vistas of glaciers, subalpine ecology, glacier harvesting, wildflower blooming in early June as well as spectacular huckleberry harvests and wildflower blooming!
